Intermediate Second Year Exam Results 2009
Friday, 24 May 2009: Pass percentage registered the lowest in the last three years in the Intermediate second year examinations with 60.15 per cent students clearing the examination this year. It is four per cent less than previous year when 64.13 per cent students passed. It was 62.63 per cent in 2007.
Releasing the results here on Friday, Principal Secretary Higher Education, Asutosh Mishra, said that 3,97,170 regular students cleared the examinations apart from 44,132 private candidates. Pass percentage of girls was much higher at 62 per cent compared to boys' 58 per cent.
More number of students got higher grades this year too. Out of the 3.97 lakh successful students 1.71 lakh scored "A" grade (more than 75 per cent) while 1.40 lakh students scored "B" grade (60 per cent to 75 per cent). About 66,053 students figured in "C" grade (50 per cent to 60 per cent) while only 18,730 candidates got "D" grade (35 per cent to 50 per cent). Krishna district topped the list with 74 per cent passes while Mahabubnagar finished at the bottom with 43 per cent. Ranga Reddy district took the second spot with 72 per cent passes.
Supplementary exam
Mr. G. Balaramaiah, BIE Secretary said that students can collect the marks sheets from the respective colleges after April 28. And any discrepancies found can be reported to the BIE before May 25. He said advanced supplementary examination will be held from May 20 and the last date for payment of fee is May 1. There is no provision for payment of examination fee with penalty. Marks of failed candidates are available on the websites so that they can apply for supplementary exams. Candidates who have passed in all papers can appear for improvement, on payment of Rs. 20 per paper in addition to the normal examination fee. Applications for recounting or re-verification should be submitted before May 4.
